Song writing in worship

1. A man got in a ship wreck. His wife and him survived, but his child did not. He thought to himself about peace, and how God is in control. "It is well with my soul." This became a song that has lasted for decades, influencing people.
2.The role of a song writer is to write songs that express our love to God, amidst our real world experiences.
3. Songs also have theological purpose.
4. The songs we sing in church affect Tye way we think about God more than what we hear.
5. We write because we need to use the language of words in music to have conversations with God. 6. Songwriters also write for the community.
7. The encounters we have with God bring us closer to him.
8. Almost anything can inspire one to write a song.
9. There are many ways songwriters can use to capture that moment of inspiration.
10. Songwriting can be just plain hard work, called writers work.

Next years worship team encouragement

        Dear Future team. You should know that participation in this team will bring much more joy than you are expecting. You have been presented with an exciting opportunity to lead a complete student body in worshiping of the Lord. Not only do few students get the opportunity to join such a team, but also few students posses the talents that you do. Cooperation will be key. Be agreeable, and flexible. Be respectful. Quality worship leading

        There is very much to be done in order to be a quality worship leader. One must appear very genuine, and engaged in the music to start. This is important to draw in the congregation, to become moved by the Holy Spirit by the music. Being energetic is also very important as a worship leader to show excitement for the music of God. Being a quality worship leader can only be achieved with God's help.
     
        I watched Forgiven by David Crowder. This video showed David Crowder leading the passion conference. David seems to be a very engaged worship leader, appearing very genuine. David draws in the crowd with his body motions, and is very envolved in the music. The music was very intense in the video and the crowd seemed very much engaged. Overall, David was an effective worship leader for the passion conference.

The Gift of Worship

        This video was convicting. It talked about the many different ways worship is important. Worship can be the decision of a person of weather or not they stay at a church. Worship isn't about getting, however, it is about giving. God wants us to praise him.
        Though it is important for us to give in worship, we still can receive. Worship is a time for God's human followers to remind themselves of him, and is most often done with music.we need God more than he needs us, so for us to only give when worshiping makes no sense. All in all, we should not be selfish, and so we should give what we can.

Guiding principles for worship

-we communicate with god through worship.

-we respond to Gods revelation, Jesus.

-We make worship match modern music so it doesent sound Wierd.

-Worship often refers to the past, with references and meaning.

-Worship isn't just music, it's also a body motion, and a lifestyle change.

-when worshiping, we should make an active effort to include others.

-Everyone should worship, old and young, male, and female.

-Worship is a balance between order, and sunrise, pageantry, and intimacy.

Worship Team

        The worship team is set apart in certain ways. To serve God is something that all people can, and must do. To close off the worship team would be unethical. The worship team is always open for everyone. This makes the worship band different than other bands.
        I feel that it is important to include people. Worshiping is something everyone should be able to participate in. I am glad that the worship team is so inclusive because I can take part in it now. It is a very positive thing to take part in. I definitely observe how the worship team is set apart.

Why Aren't We Singing

        Why aren't we singing? "There has been a shift of cultur," he stated, people don't sing as much now days. Singing to God is giving a gift to him. People often don't realize the importance of this. A common cause to stop people from singing is when people don't know the song. He also described how much of the church has embraced a performance style. Certain devices deliver a performance to us. It is hard to sing, or contribute to the music when one does not have any of these devices. Psalms states how we should praise the Lord. That is what we should do.

        I feel like people don't sing as much because modern culture puts more pressure on people to meet certain standards. Many people feel that their voices may not be good enough, and thus do not sing. Self consciousness is a likely contributer to the apparent lack of people singing. I often hold back from singing because I feel like I am not a good singer. This may or may not be true, regardless I should praise God.
