This chapter talks about spiritual maturity. As worship leaders, it is are responsibility to be spiritually mature. There is a lot of people who are skilled musicians, but who aren't spiritually mature. To really be worshipping God, and not just playing instruments, we must be spiritually mature. God loves us, and wants to know us.
I feel I have room for improvement in my spiritual maturity. There is always room to improve. Sometimes when I am playing, I become distracted. I become nervous, and forget why I am playing. I also sometimes forget to pray first. Generally I should focus more on the spiritual aspect of worship.
Thank you Edward for your honesty. I know how hard it can be to admit that you don't know why you're playing. It's important to remember who we play for. When we're leading worship, we need to be more than just musicians - we need to be worshippers, solely focused on pleasing Him.
ReplyDeleteI love how honest you are Edward! I agree that we all have room for improvement in our spiritual maturity. It's easy to get caught up in the technical aspect of worship so I like how you pointed out that we should focus on the spiritual aspect of worship.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so honest about your own spiritual maturity! I think all worship leaders have room for improvement. It is so easy to be caught up in our anxiety and become distracted that we forget that we are worshipping God and instead we think about the technical side of leading worship. I love how honest you are and it has been great seeing you grow as a more confident worship leader this year!
